5 Amazing Stars
This book is everything you want when sitting down to read. I love both of these authors so I had high hopes for Mallory & Brent's story. Let me just say, it did not disappoint. As a matter a fact, I've read the book twice already! It's that amazing! It will have you laughing, crying, smitten and frustrated throughout, all the elements of an awesome story. I'm warning you now, once you start it you won't want to stop.
The story spans from childhood to adulthood in chronological order. We get to grow up with Mallory, Brent, and their classmates. Mallory is an amazing character. She's always been a little overweight which lead to her being bullied. Mostly by none other than Brent, who ends up being the star jock of the school. We watch their relationship grow from enemies to friends to much more. I loved the adversities they were faced with. It made it so very real, which is why I connected with the story so much. The secondary characters were amazing also. They really complemented the story nicely.
This story hit home for me. In the early years, it brought me back to elementary & high school, but the later years really touched me. We see this happen every day in real life. I applaud the authors for writing such a real story. I think many will connect with the characters and the situations that they face throughout the book.
If you are looking for a life, love, loss and second chance story, this is one you don't want to miss. Get ready for a roller coaster ride of emotions and experience life with Brent, Mallory, and their friends.
Blurb:
Are broken roads worth traveling?
As the daughter of a hard working single mother, Mallory James is very familiar with struggle. Loneliness becomes a common theme in her life, especially because she suffers with issues such as low self-esteem, poor body image, and a lack of confidence. She’s more than happy to be the wallflower who hides away from the world that intimidates her, especially when in high school.
Brent Grayson is a wealthy, bold, sexy, and confident star athlete who can land any woman he wants. However, outward appearances can often be deceiving. Though he’s a bully with a bad attitude, an odd and seemingly unlikely bond begins after they meet in kindergarten, and continues well into adulthood.
Then everyday life happens…
Their paths split and a decision must be made. Will Brent and Mallory successfully navigate the roads they’re on, or give up and search for a different route all together?

LK Owen:
I live in a small town
in the south east of England, and have lived here all my life. I’m married and
have three children. I only started reading three years ago, when my husband
bought me a kindle for Christmas. It started my love of all things books. 18 months
ago I had a health scare and to take my mind off of it, I began writing. Soon
it grew into the full length novel, Sucker Punched. I have since released Ethan:
A Novella and book two in the series, Reclaiming Beauty.
