5 Emotional Stars
I received an Arc of On Solid Ground for an honest review & I can honestly say this story touched my heart. It was so wonderfully written that I couldn't put it down. My emotions went from one extreme to the next. I was in awe of each of the characters in this story. This is the second M/M book I've read by Melissa Collins and once again she did not disappoint.
As Dax is returning home from war he finds it difficult to deal with the guilt of losing someone close to him. He suffers from PTDS & trying to come to terms with his sexuality. He finds it hard to have any kind of relationship with his family. so he decides to get a place with his Best friend Chloe.
Beckett is a Tattoo artist & part owner of his own Tattoo business. He has been through a lot in his life & really has had to grow up fast. As usual life throws him a curve ball & he's left to help raise his sister’s daughter violet. As the story goes on we find out the depth of what he has truly had to endure, it broke my heart.
Dax & Beckett have to overcome alot of obstacles if they have any chance of having a relationship? As you read you can feel the passion through every word that is written. The love & desire between the two is undeniable. You will laugh, cry & mourn with these characters as if you are part of their family.
I look forward to reading more from Melissa Collin's & I can't wait to read The Love Series.
About the author:
Melissa Collins has always been a book worm. Studying Literature in college ensured that her nose was always stuck in a book. She followed her passion for reading to the most logical career choice: English teacher. Her hope was to share her passion for reading and the escapism of books to her students. Having spent more than a decade in front of a classroom, she can easily say that it’s been a dream.
Her passion for writing didn’t start until more recently. When she was home on maternity leave in early 2012, she read her first romance novel and her head filled with the passion, angst and laughter of the characters who she read about it. It wasn’t long before characters of her own took shape in her mind. Their lives took over Melissa’s brain and The Love Series was born.
